Child Care
The ASYMCA Beach Family Center has a number of exciting Child Care programs. Our programs are state licensed and are associated with the YMCA of South Hampton Roads. All children have the opportunity to participate in enriching recreational and educational activities.
All children are welcome! Child Care programs are open to military and civilian families.

Preschool
Each of our preschool classrooms use The Creative Curriculum. This curriculum is consistent with the ASYMCAHRs early childhood education philosophy based on Kindergarten readiness, parent connections and professional development. Throughout the year we use the Creative Curriculum Assessment Tool Kit incorporating parent partnerships to track each child’s development. Assessments guide teachers in designing lesson plans meeting individual needs. Parents are encouraged to visit the classroom regularly and attend special events.

Camp Programs
Summer Camp
The ASYMCA of Hampton Roads offers out of school camps. Our well-trained and competent staff is one of the keys to successful summer camping. Our staff is carefully selected for their maturity, skills and abilities to work with our campers. Weekly program components will consist of life skills, values time, D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read) time, swimming, arts and crafts, field trips, outside time and more. These camps are offered for Spring and Summer Break.

School-Age Program
Designed to meet the needs of working parents by providing children a safe before & after school environment to explore their unique interests and hobbies.
Enrichment Clubs
Are formed around special interests or hobbies students choose to explore. From soccer to cross stitching the clubs are designed to provide choices and build self-confidence while learning new things.

Our Virginia Beach location services Shelton Park, Pembroke, Thalia, Luxford, Pembroke Meadows, Hermitage, Thoroughgood, and Bayside Elementary Schools.
In Norfolk our program is held at Sewells Point Elementary and provides transportation to and from Camp Allen Elementary.
