Child Care
The ASYMCA Beach Family Center has a number of exciting Child Care programs. Our programs are state licensed and are associated with the YMCA of South Hampton Roads. All children have the opportunity to participate in enriching recreational and educational activities.

Preschool
The Armed Services YMCA licensed Preschool programs offer a wonderful place where your child can learn and grow in a safe and nurturing environment. The programs are operated on an experiential learning philosophy - children learn by doing. The theme-based curriculum includes skill building for kindergarten readiness through a literacy-based circle time, arts, dramatic play, math concepts, building blocks, manipulatives, games, and physical play.
For children ages 24 months through five years, this is the perfect opportunity for your child to gain increased self-esteem and social skills while preparing for the challenges of kindergarten.
Camp Programs
The Armed Services YMCA offers camp programs for children ages 5-12. Our camp programs offer tons of fun while still promoting the values of the YMCA: Honesty, Caring, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith.
This summer's theme is "The Amazing Race", each week your child will visit a different location across the world. Each week's theme will reflect the location that your child visits. In addition to the fun that your child will have at the ASYMCA, we will take weekly field trips that will enhance the weekly theme. All field trips are included in the weekly tuition. School-Age Program
Our school-age program includes before and after school care and half day kindergarten programs for all children ages 5 to 12 attending Shelton Park, Bayside, Hermitage, Luxford, Pembroke Meadows, Throughgood, Pembroke and Thalia Elementary Schools.
We have begun a new Before and After School Program at Sewells Point Elementary. This program will be held at the school, not at the regional headquarters. For more information, please call (757) 464-9404.
Activities include homework assistance, indoor & outdoor play, swim, and arts & crafts. We also provide all day activities when the children are out of school.
