Mud Run - August 11, 2012

The Mud Run is an annual event in August. Over 2500 athletes support the ASYMCA by participating in this community event. There is something for everyone from the Mini-Mud run for the youngsters to the 8k Mud Run for teenagers and adults.

5 Star Military Family Recognition Luncheon

November 2012 Murray Center - Norfolk, VA
The Five Star Military Family Recognition Luncheon is an annual event to recognize five families, one from each military service, who demonstrates community spirit through volunteerism within the military and local communities. We began the luncheon approximately 18 years ago as part of Military Family Month, which is held in November. We ask each service (Navy, Army, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard) to select a family who represents the best in community spirit and commitment to "service before self." The families are brought together and recognized in front of military and local community leaders and distinguished guests.
We invite local organizations to purchase tables to offset the cost of the luncheon. We also ask companies to donate goods and services to give to the families as gifts as a way of saying "thank you" for their service.

ASYMCAHR Romantic Couples Dinner

Romantic atmosphere and babysitting! February 11, 2012
A special Valentines Day celebration often isn't possible for young military parents due to the high cost of food, entertainment, and or the availability of babysitting.
The Armed Services YMCA of Hampton Roads (ASYMCAHR) is making a romantic evening dinner obtainable for any military parent who wants to enjoy some special time with their special companion. Registration will open soon.
Cost of the event is $15 a couple for E-3 and below, $25 for E-4 and E-5, and $35 for personnel E-6 and above.

Father - Daughter Dance

A grown-up night designed for a father and the young lady in his life. While you are still number one in your daughter's eyes, create a special night for her to remember. Fathers, this is your lucky night, you can bring more than one date. The event includes heavy hor'dourves, punch, music and pictures and lots of fun.
